4th Knee Surgery (Non-Fiction)

A week ago, I underwent my 4th knee surgery. The surgeon thought it would be a simple matter of repairing the meniscus on the inside of my knee which had torn away from the bone during a fall I had last September. To be fair, he warned me that he wouldn’t know the full extent of the damage until he went in there. I’m an adult. I know my luck. Therefore, I wasn’t surprised that he found more damage.

He was correct that there was a tear that needed to be “tacked” back to the bone on the inside of my knee. What the Mri didn’t show, though, was that the outside meniscus, while still attached to the bone, had several vertical rips as well. So now, rather than wearing a simple knee brace and possibly using a cane for stability for 6 weeks, I’m in a leg immobilizer and crutches for 2 weeks, followed by the basic brace and possible cane for an additional 6 weeks.

I’m also on heavy pain killers, stool softeners, and baby aspirin in addition to my daily meds for asthma and low thyroid disease.

And I’m BORED.

Yet, I can’t concentrate due to the pain killers!

And I’m BORED.

Sigh.

With that said, if you read anything I write in the next few weeks and think, “hmm, that’s odd. Look at all those grammar and spelling mistakes. She seems to have lost tract of the storyline” or something similar, at least you will understand why.

And, I’m BORED.

Please comment with something funny to help alleviate the boredom and give me a laugh.

Please.
